Women’s Lacrosse Wins NEAC Regular Season Title
Senior Laura Dougherty led the Storm to a regular season title
The Keuka College women’s lacrosse team used a big first half against Wells College to finish off its undefeated North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) regular season championship run. Keuka defeated the Express by a score of 15-7 on the road Thursday.
The win moves Keuka to 9-1 overall and a perfect 7-0 in the conference as they win its first-ever regular season title. Keuka has won the past two NEAC tournament championships but had never won the regular season title. Wells slips to 6-7 overall and 4-3 in the conference.
Keuka jumped out to a 9-3 halftime lead and held the Express to just four second half goals while scoring six more. The Storm had 27 shot attempts while allowing 17 for Wells. The Express won the draw control battle 13-10 as well as the ground ball battle 13-11.
