Softball Splits in Two NEAC Tourney Games; To Face Morrisville Saturday

Senior Sarah Fredricks was 4-for-4 in game one.
The Keuka College softball team got off to a blistering start with its 21-5 drubbing of No. 4 Cazenovia College in its first game of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) North Division Tournament at home on Friday. The Storm would end its day with a 5-0 loss to the No. 2 seeded Wildcats of SUNYIT.
Keuka now has to play to No. 3 SUNY Morrisville, who knocked Cazenovia out of the tournament, at 10 am on Saturday, April 30. If Keuka wins that game they will have two chances to knock off SUNYIT to try and defend its NEAC Title.
Against Cazenovia, Keuka’s offense was in top form as they clubbed 21 hits while scoring 21 runs in just five innings, including plating nine runs in two different frames. Senior Sarah Fredricks (Milton, Ontario/E.C. Drury) led the sticks going 4-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs scored while belting a home run. Classmate Morgan Engelbert (Elmira Heights, N.Y./Thomas Edison) finished a single shy of the cycle while going 3-for-5 with three RBIs and three runs scored. Four other players drove in two runs.
